My First Year of School

My First Year of School

"No, mom, please!" I cried as my mom started the car's engine. I had never wanted to start going to school, but the day had to finally come. Well, I never wanted to go to school because of how much I would see my older siblings study. When my mom and I got to the school, I had to find out that my mom was not allowed to stay there and I had to stay there all by myself.

After I introduced myself to my class, my mom started heading towards the door. The moment I saw that happening, I got out of my seat and ran to her so I can stop her, but she pulled her hand away and said "It is okay, nothing will happen to you!" I started to cry because I knew that she was not going to stay, while I cried, my teacher, Ms. Esther held my hand and tried to drag me back to my seat. When she did that, she made me even more scared of staying alone with her and a bunch of random children. Well, you may not know this, but when I am scared, I do a lot of crazy things, such as, panicking or throwing a fit. In this case, it was throwing a fit in front of my whole class. I started crying, screaming, and stomping my feet on the floor. After my fit was over, my mom and teacher convinced me to just stay calm and remain in my seat. My mom stayed there for about 10 minutes then snuck out of my classroom without me noticing. On my second day of school, my goal was to make at least one friend. There was a girl that sat facing me named Farah. She was also kind of lonely because she was foreign, just like me. So, that day I decided to start giving her signs that I wanted to be her friend, like offering her pencils and erasers. Almost a week after that, she made her first move. She walked up to me right before our lunch break and asked me if I wanted to play with her during break time. I said yes while hugging her. She was my first friend. We started talking a lot for the next couple of weeks. When Ms. Esther started realizing how talkative we were during class, she decided to move Farah away from me because she said that Farah was a "distraction". We were both sad and kept quiet after that. Now almost quarter of a year of school has passed. On one random school day, my dad told me that my mom just gave birth! At first I thought he was kidding, but when he got me and my siblings inside the car, I believed him, although, my mother was actually pregnant. When we first got to the hospital, we saw my mother sitting on her hospital bed holding my new baby brother,  Rayan. On the next day of school, when I first entered my class, I told my teacher, Ms.Esther, and my best friend, Farah. As time passed, Farah and I would get closer and closer each day. One day we decided that I ask my mom if  I could go to her house. We exchanged our moms' phone numbers so that they could call each other. When I got home, I immediately asked my mom, "Mama….can I please, please, please, please go to Farah's house? Please?" My mother knew who Farah was, but only because of all the stories that I told her about Farah. I showed her Farah's mom's phone number, then continued begging. After five minutes of me constantly begging, my mom finally got annoyed and decided to call. While my mom was calling, only half of the talking was about going over or anything that me and Farah planned on. The other half was just them chatting, telling stories, and laughing. I guessed that it was a good sign of them becoming friends, so I didn’t say a word. Later, my mom told me that we were going to go to their house! I was very happy and excited. After we went to their house and came back, I was really tired and fell asleep. During the next couple of weeks, me and Farah decided that we were going to be BFFs. By now, almost more than half of the school year had passed and it was a pretty great year so far. All the other months that were left passed by normally, except for the last month. During my last month of KG.2, Farah told me that she was not going to be back next year, which was extremely bad news. Then came our graduation, which was really fun, but, finally I had to say goodbye to my teacher, Ms.Esther; my principle, Ms.Layla; and my best friend, Farah.

This year was very important and special because it was one of my best years in school. During that year I also got my first friend. Also, when I look back at this year and all the embarrassing things that happened to me and all the embarrassing things that I saw, it makes me laugh and think about how much I've changed throughout the years!
